Criticize Based On Books Dime quién soy

There was something in the prose of the book that kept bothering me; still now, after finishing, I'm not fully sure what it was... probably the great-grand-child who narrates the story and who doesn't seem to add anything to the story. Other than that, I loved the story of the great grand mother. Julia Navarro has done a great job documenting the historical moment which is quite an achievement taking into account that the book covers from the Spanish Civil War, the 2nd World War and finishes

I listened to this book in Spanish. I'm not aware if there is an English translation yet. I believe there should be a translation for the US market so people here would understand better what people go through when war is fought in their own country. Of course, there are always immigrants arriving from war zones, but the last war in the US was in the 1800's and there isn't anyone alive who lived through it. For me, this book was annoying from start to finish. There is a hero that is extremely naive and everybody is hostile to him and annoyed by his actions but nevertheless agrees to pay his expenses and clears obstacles out of his way. The dialogs are so fake, they dont work. The explanations given when a resolution is needed to move the story on are also pretty simplistic. Maybe this book will be appreciated by readers who are not familiar with the historical events but those who know the facts of

This book sucks! It's one of the lamest stories ever. Without any twists everything is just straight forward and the main characters are boring. The "journalist" who isn't able to do any research by himself and always needs people that are pointed out to him and happen to know exactly what he needs. The writing doesn't change a bit if the story shifts from one character telling it to another. And don't want to spoil the end but I was thinking "what? This is it? This is how the author intended

I bought the book 2 years ago, waiting on my bookshelf crying all the time " read me, read me". Today I red the last page and closed the book.I must say during the time I was reading the book I was only physically present. Mentally I was walking aside Amelia traveling with her, feeling the tortures, the courage, the love and the pain she endured.It's been a long time I've been reading such a good novel. It's a great book, one of the bests that I have read. It's very well writen and it's an amazing book for people who want to know how people lived in Europe in the 20 century.
