The Silver Pigs is fun to read. And if you're looking to read to relax, there's no better praise.As I mentioned in my comment, the voice and tone reminded me of Glen Cook's Garrett, P.I. series sans the fantasy element. Even more strongly, I'm reminded of a Roman Rockford Files, which may be brilliantly illuminative to those of a certain age or who have a taste for '70s detective shows. I was an early appreciator of Lindsey Davis's Falco mysteries, often buying them from England before they were published over here.
