This was really, really good and very hot! Remove the shock and you're left in awe, which I was. A beautiful love story. A solid 4.5 stars and I'll read this author again. I took off a little bit for the drag in the middle. All that self loathing.

An extremely hot m/m bdsm romance full of humour and wit, told in the present tense. Bar owner and closet Dom Jenner is captivated by his new employee Brayden who has returned from Miami to his hometown where he was bullied in high school..'Gripping the bar's edge, leaning forward against it, a switch gets flipped in Jenner. Stopped at around 45% because I couldn't like or believe either MC. I usually have a real soft spot for the weak and vulnerable/fucked up character but I just wanted to slap Brayden. I hated the way Jenner,still just an inexperienced and angry kid himself, bullied Brayden into a D/s relationship. I think that for the BDSM element to seem real and believable(and safe)the Dom must possess some degree of self-awareness, maturity and experience. Jenner did not.

I am really amazed at how good this story was. I picked it up because it meets so many of our scavenger hunt points so I didn't expect much more than to gather the points.
