Judge Out Of Books The Mulberry Tree
I am so glad that I did a re-read of this book. Lillian/Bailey is one of my favorite female characters of all time. She is a great comeback kid. At the beginning of this story she is an overweight billionaires wife and in love but miserable. She loves her husband but she can't stand his friends and they can't stand her either. They are constantly making fun of her. His brother and sister are horrible people. But by the end of the story is she truly happy and all that was once horrible in her

Wow.This is one roller coaster of a mystery(? is mystery the right genre?) book. Throughout the book I loved figuring out new secrets of the characters and finding pieces of information to fill the gaps of the protagonists knowledge. Who are the Golden Boys? Who was Jimmie? What happened on the 30th of March?I loved how the author drew me in and lead me through the finding of knowledge.Pros for the book- Complicated mystery. I definitely think this is a pro. Not at one point was the story

This book dragged quite a bit for me! At first, my main problem was that I didn't get the heroine's relationship with her husband! The way it was described, it sounded like he was a manipulative, controlling semi-abuser. Especially after she mentioned after his death - "after putting up with him for years, he left me with nothing!" So it sounded like she didn't love him...not sure why she stayed with him!? She didn't seem to want his money either... But then, a few weeks later, she's crying,

A poignant and bittersweet story of a wife who loses her billionaire husband, who protects her by leaving her nothing in his will. As the reader travels with Lillian to her new life and watches over her struggles to survive, another mystery is slowly unraveling, one that may put Lillian in danger of being killed. Matt is not the normal hero. An out-of-work, divorced architect who "boards" with Lillian, he sometimes champions her and sometimes undercuts her attempts to function on her own. The

There are two books in my collection that I read occasionally when I need a light read and something kind of fun, and this is one of them. It is the story of Lillian Manville, the wife of billionaire James Manville, who is killed when his plane crashes in the middle of the night. He dies, leaving Lillian a decrepit old farm house and a mysterious note that reads, "Find out what happened." Lillian undergoes plastic surgery and moves to the farm in rural Virginia, trying to reassemble her life,

I thought this would just be a light read but it was really good and held my interest to the end. There is a story/mystery within a story. Lillian's husband dies leaving her nothing but a run down farmhouse and $50,000 while leaving a fortune to a brother and sister he hated! Her husband's lawyer gives Lillian a note from her husband asking her to find out what really happened. Although she has no idea what he is talking about and having nowhere to go, Lillian travels to the farm and starts a

I just finished my 4th reading of this book. After suggesting it as a good read to a friend, I couldn't get it off my mind and had to read it again. It had been a couple of years since my last reading and it had the same impact on me. I love this book. I would like to give it several more stars in my rating. I know there are a lot of negative reviews about it and I don't understand what they don't like. It has romance, mystery, motivation. I did feel the ending was a little rushed, so maybe I
