Ask For It (Georgian #1)
So for the most part I'm pleasantly surprised. I always thought I wouldn't like a historical read. I usually read more contemporary modern day stuff. But I enjoyed this book. Even though the setting is way back in the day like were talking the 1700s here. I thought the language was going to be a bit old fashioned and stuffy but its not that way. Still kept a bit of a modern day feel even though its placed back so far in time. But I enjoyed the story. I think its beautiful how Elizabeth &
Hmm. Not my cup of tea. This is my first Regency-style romance, and granted, I am right smack in the middle of the Outlander series, so maybe I was expecting a little too much since it's set in the same time period, but this couple just didn't do it for me. For the first half of the book I was rolling my eyes. The second half got better once there were real emotions there and more real passion, not just lust. As for the plot...the whole agency thing with the journal was weird. To me, it didn't
I normally love Sylvia Day books, but this one fell flat for me. Nothing really HAPPENED in it aside from the initial reunion between Elizabeth & Marcus and the climax at the end with the villain. I did not like Elizabeth at all. She spent the entire book complaining and pushing Marcus away for his supposed faults or mistakes, when in truth she was blaming him out of her own lack of trust. Every time you turned the page she was mad at him or barring him from her bed or crying because he
WOW...this is an amazing wicked historical by Sylvia Day!I'm in disbelief that it's taken only until now for me to discover this gem.I love the premise of this story. I was instantly drawn to Marcus' and Elizabeth's story. They were engaged 4 years ago but through a misunderstanding, she eloped with someone else and he was left with a broken heart. She's now a widow out of mourning and he takes no chances that someone else possess her. She was always suppose to be his and pursues her at her very
Elizabeth and Marcus are the main characters. While they were engaged to be married Elizabeth enters Marcus house and finds him and then another women obviously out of a shower and assumes that Marcus has been unfaithful. She flees and runs directly into the arms of Nigel who she immediately elopes with. After a year of marriage, Nigel (Hawthorn) is killed and after three years of mourning Elizabeth runs into Marcus at a ball. Marcus is there looking for her specifically because he has been
4 Stars. So this is my first historical romance by Sylvia Day and I must say, I really enjoyed it. The story was intriguing, I liked both main characters and the sex was scorching hot.I will definitely be reading more from this series:-)

I was in a quandry about how to rate this one 4 stars seems too low but 5 too high, so it's a 4 1/2 really! This story for me was an interesting read, a simple plot of intrigue, treason and blackmail with enough twists to surprise, that come when you least expect them and are very believable. The plot is not laid out to you on a plate so you find yourself knowing as much or a little as the hero and heroine, it's reads a little like a *who dunnit* and when you do find out who the instigator ofSo for the most part I'm pleasantly surprised.
